Pi served in the U.S. Army for 8 years before being medically retired for combat related injuries. He was fortunate enough to be treated near his home; as his family didnt need to travel to be able to be by his side.
There is a constant stream of service men & women injured both stateside & while deployed. When that happens they dont have a choice of where they recieve treatment. Leaving the service member's family unable to be with their loved one at their side. Accommodations and lodging costs could cause an increased burden on finances; especially for an extended period of time.
The Fisher House Foundation is an organization that steps in and provides a home for the family to stay in at ZERO cost to them.
These homes are located close to military and VA hospitals nationwide, ensuring there is never a lodging fee.
Since inception, the program has saved military and veteran families an estimated $360 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.
Service members devote their lives in service to our country, which adds its own unique twists to family life. Having a loved one in hospital can be a trying time, to have them in a hospital away from home adds more stress to an already unbearable time.
Pi has decided to raise funds for the Fisher House Foundation to help support their mission and enable them to carry on providing help and support to those who need it most at their most trying time.
Gaming is ever popular with the military and veteran community. High percentages of rehabilitation facilities utilize gaming in their programs with increased success rates for neurological or physical injuries.
On Friday June 2nd 2017 at 0900 Eastern through Saturday June 3rd 2017, Pi will be conducting a 24 hour Game-a-thon and will be live streaming it at: https://beam.pro/ThatPiGuy
Feel free to watch and support him during this time. If you are able, ANY donation towards the cause, no matter how big or small will help continue to support the the families of our injured service men & women.
Thank You for YOUR support!
