I could not have asked for a better experience running my first marathon. The Fisher House takes such great care of their runners, I can only imagine the care they give the military families in their greatest time of need. What an inspiring charity. I can't wait to run with Team Fisher House again. -Susie Wolding

It was an honor to take part in the Army 10-Miler as part of the Fisher House Team. We thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie and entire experience from start to finish. Helping raise awareness and funds for the Fisher Foundation has been extremely important and special to us. We are still collecting monies and will forward the checks in the next few weeks. Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication!  -Respectfully, Alicia & Kurt Ogren Seymour, CT

Ran with this Charity Team in the last 5 Marine Corps Marathons. There is no better military charity than Fisher House. - Don Hammer

Running the Army Ten Miler with Team Fisher House was the experience of a lifetime! From the phone call I got after I registered that made me more comfortable never having run ten miles in my life to getting pumped up by the team at the expo and receiving the coolest swag bag to seeing the spirit squad along the course and the tent with some refueling snacks after the race Team Fisher House is the absolute best. I've worked with Fisher House CT for almost two years now and I feel so blessed to have had this experience with this group of people and will absolutely be returning next year. Aside from being a top rated charity, this organization has the kindest, hardest working people I have seen. It's so wonderful to be surrounded by people who love helping military families as much as I do. Thank YOU for all that you do and for making my first race the best experience! I'm so excited to continue working with Fisher House CT and spreading the good work that this organization does! Thank you again!! -Gina Salvatore

Thank you for making my first marathon better than I could have ever imagined! This organization is TOP NOTCH!!! - Jenni Witt

I wanted to follow up with you on my experiences this weekend at the marathon. We spoke at the expo and I hunted you down several times in the finisher tent to relay my excitement about the whole organization.

I saw the screaming fans with cow hats, yellow jerseys and cow bells on the Marine Corps Marathon course before, but didn't know what it was all about. I researched the foundation, looked at Charity Navigator, read feedback from military families and decided this was a good thing. I had secured my own entry for MCM 2015, but decided to raise funds anyway.

I'm not sure if it was you that called a month or so ago, but getting the message on my answering machine about my fundraising was a wonderful surprise. I've never had any such interaction with any group. I made a point to post on my Facebook page about the phone call. I "tagged" all my friends that had donated so they would see it too.

Then I met you at the expo. I loved your face when you saw how much I raised (which pales in comparison to what you do). I really like the "goodies", although I feel they are completely unneeded. I love the jacket, shirt and hat. That was more than enough. I do admit that I would love to tour on of the Houses and will be aiming for that next year. I'm actually planning on giving the wine glasses to my top supporters, as I think they deserve it more than I do.

On race day, having a warm, dry tent to hang out in before the race was great. Although I have my own race day pre-race food ritual, it was nice to see the food and drink available. The bag check gals were right on top of things and very helpful.

I can't begin to describe what it felt like to be on the course and have so many people yelling "go Fisher House" in my direction. There were other runners coming from behind, tapping me on the shoulder, offering words of encouragement and acknowledging my "top fundraiser" placard. I waved to other Team Fisher House runners as well, when we passed each other during out and back sections on the course. The spirit squads on the course were a delight - loud, excited, cheering, bell ringing. I looked for every single one and made a point to get to the side of the road where they were located. I stopped and took several photos with the squads. I really felt like a rockstar out there and it was all because of Team Fisher House and supporters.

And then to top it all off, as I made a left hand turn to "run" up the last 0.1 mile hill, there was an angel who appeared, dressed in a Team Fisher House shirt. She took me (verbally) by the hand and rallied me up that darn hill. I've run this race 3 times before and I don't remember running the entire way up - except for this year. I can't thank her enough and wish I knew her name.

In the tent after the race, I was able to change into dry clothing in a private little area, get a complimentary massage from a wonderfully talented massage therapist and eat and drink hot food. Again, the volunteers here were outstanding, even walking around serving food and taking "orders" so that the runners didn't have to get up (if they couldn't)

I have run Marine Corps Marathon in the past for another charity, a charity that I will still support financially because I still believe in their cause. However, I have been won over by Team Fisher House - the support during fundraising, the "swag" given to the runners, the race day cheering squads, the pre- and post race tent, far exceeds any other organization I've ever been involved with. But the most important reason I will continue to support Team Fisher House is the work that it does. Fisher House provides an important service and peace of mind to military families and I believe in this organization. And that will keep me coming back! -Sincerely, Shelly Latsha, 2015 and 2016 Teammate

As is standard, the support to Team Fisher House was awesome this weekend. The tent and the massage after the race were of course the highlights. I’m pretty sure this was my best year for fundraising. I even got us three more donations during the race thanks to a FB post from my wife! Kevin Templin AFM Alum

As my mom and I have finished our 4 and 5th Fisher House runs I cannot thank you enough. Form the easy registration, motivational emails to keep us on task and working on our fundraising, to your tech support for all our needs you two have been amazing. When I think of what you two and your vision have provided to Fisher House, our military and families across the globe I am so humbled and honored to be part of your vision and dreams. As a mom of a military officer, who is married to a military officer, I know the gift of hope you provide her and me.

You two are amazing. You make 26.2 miles joyous each and every time. I cannot thank you enough for the support you provided to my mom, Mary Agnes and I this year and in the past. We will be back..... Kathryn Fiddler

I truly loved being a part of Team Fisher House and was so proud to represent such an incredible organization! Being that this was the first time I had run on a charity team, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Between the phone calls, encouragement, and great email communications, it was simple to fundraise and I always felt part of the team.

Thank you for everything you did to make this a really memorable experience! -Christine Suter
